Vivekananda Bagchi is an emerging artist who specializes in pencil portraits. He began practicing art during the lockdown in 2020 and subsequently founded his own learning institute, the Prism Pencil Portrait and Art Training Institute. Since then, he has organized and participated in various cultural programs, including events at the Kite Festival in 2022, the Gauhati Artists’ Guild in 2023 and 2024, and Vivekananda Kendra in 2024.

Currently, he is learning art from the Assam Fine Arts & Craft Society while also teaching his students. As he puts it, “Patience and determination can be instilled in students playfully through art.”

At present, he is showcasing his students’ works at Slate Nest (Chinaki Kitap Ghar) Art Gallery in Panbazar. The exhibition will be on view until March 28th.

Today, the students of his institute paid tribute to the late Lakhahira Das, who recently passed away.
