Deep dive into Manash Talukdar’s work and story

Art WorkS + My Story

Over the past 25 years, the artist has created artworks reflecting their journey. They express uncertainty about the chronological context due to limited records but invite inquiries for more information. Each artwork celebrates beauty amidst chaos, focusing on personal resonance over material value.

Artist Bio

My work starts in damp corridors—Scindia School, where anger dripped off the walls and Altaf Mohamedi left fingerprints. I didn’t know it then, but the ghosts followed me to Delhi College of Art. What came out was dark and raw, like someone had pushed a face through plaster. But the Himalayas pulled harder. Water, rush, melt. So now I stitch the rage back together. I use recycled cloth, old wires, and mountain streams turned pigment. Themes hit on sustainability, memory, nature’s pulse, myths woven into recycled stuff. It’s not scream anymore, it’s breath. Not protest, it’s repair. The violence got buried in thread, the memory in weave. Late at night, you can still hear the faint, wet, and waiting echo. I keep feeding it: a landscape one day, an exploded chair the next. Because art isn’t what I show. It’s what refuses to die.
