Exploring Freedom: Tussling with a Birdie

1–2 minutes

To read

This work is about movement through space that is pre-dominated by birds, each species embodying a unique form of flight that captivates the observer. The various forms shown here are suggestive of the struggle of freedom, illustrating the delicate balance between aspiration and the weight of constraints. It is a struggle to breathe these forms along with their multiple facets, as each angle highlights the tension between liberation and captivity, without the chaotic and monarchic energy destroying the overall cohesion. In this intricate dance of wings and winds, breathing brings life and the rhythmic act of inhaling and exhaling becomes a metaphor for resilience, while cohesion brings strength, reinforcing the idea that true freedom is only found in harmony with one’s surroundings and fellow beings.
