To read

Manash Talukdar discovered weaving and textiles while studying Fine Arts in college in 2010 when he had to switch from his initial focus due to low grades. This unexpected turn became a significant turning point for him, revealing a new passion. As he explored weaving, he grew to appreciate its intricate beauty and complexity, inspired by the works of Bauhaus and artist Mrinalini Mukherjee. He began to experiment boldly with patterns and colors, challenging conventional views of textile art and encouraging viewers to see beyond the norm. From 2017 to 2022, Manash further honed his style, gaining respect in the art world for his unique works that merged cultural narratives with vibrant aesthetics. However, in 2023, he recognized that his intensive approach to weaving was not sustainable for his health. This realization led him to believe that art should broaden perspectives rather than limit itself to one medium. While valuing his past works, he decided to move on from weaving, feeling it represented the culmination of his efforts. Now, he looks to explore different mediums that resonate more deeply with him, aiming to grow as an artist. Manash invites others to join him in this journey of artistic exploration and change, promoting collaboration and reflection within the art community.
