Assemblages with Found objects

Manash Talukdar creates art from found objects, combining creativity and resourcefulness to challenge traditional views of art. After returning to Guwahati from his B.F.A. studies in Delhi, he was affected by the loss of his family’s electrical store due to bankruptcy. This experience made him notice the beauty in discarded items. Following the sudden death of his father in 2014, he dealt with grief and new responsibilities, leading to a creative block that impacted his art. Overwhelmed by expectations and loss, he paused his art projects to focus on his studies at H.P. University Shimla while coping with his father’s death. After completing his studies, he began using found objects to create art. He purchased a welding machine and transformed discarded electrical items into unique pieces, each telling a story that prompts people to reflect on overlooked values. This process showcases his creativity and addresses issues of consumption and waste.

This project, a tribute to his father, ended in 2021 due to injury, showcasing his unique artistry.
